Breakers

Breakers is a play about teenage trauma, collective memory, and how to get on with your sister. The play unpicks the idea of shared memories within rural communities, and through the lens of two estranged sisters it looks at LGBTQ+ representation in rural communities and the treatment of sexual assault in society.

I originally wrote Breakers as part of textLAB, a collaboration between Playwright Studio Scotland and Scottish Youth Theatre. I received funding from Creative Scotland in 2023 to further develop the project.

Breakers has been performed at Sláinte! Theatre‘s Heads or Tales? Scratch Night and received a full rehearsed reading at the 2024 Spark Festival in Eden Court.

At The End

When her grandfather dies, Elsie must clear out the coft house where he lived. The objects of his life, and the landscape of the croft, draw her back to her sense of identity.

At the End is a digital theatre commission I received from The Spirit of the Highlands project, funded by Creative Scotland. I drew inspiration from the croft I grew up on to make this story of generational connection.

Performed by Rosie Hart. Cinematography by Delilah Rose Niel.

You can watch the digital theatre play here.
